Union City weighs undergrounding BART poles plan
City officials after a meeting with BART engineers remain optimistic about removing visually obtrusive utility poles along the BART line in Union City. BART declined to fund undergrounding with PG&E contributions covering part of the cost, leaving Union City to cover about 70 percent of the 14 500 difference.
