Congress fails to override Ford veto on military bill
Washington Congress yesterday failed to override President Ford's veto of a 3.4 billion military construction bill. The Senate fell 11 votes short of the two thirds needed for override at 42 while the House had overridden earlier by 270 to 11. The bill would have allowed a yearlong review of Pentagon base closure proposals by congressmen for their districts.
