Kidnap Suspect Surrenders in Chowchilla Case

Richard Schoenfeld, one of three men sought in the Chowchilla school bus kidnaping, turned himself in as bail was set at 1 million dollars after authorities filed 27 counts of kidnap and 36 counts of robbery. His brothers James and Fred Woods remained at large. Police issued a nationwide bulletin describing the trio as armed and dangerous.

Track guard in slaying freed
