Hydrofoil crash injures 14 after shark strike in Manila Bay
A hydrofoil carrying 44 passengers and three crew from the President Wilson struck a large shark in Manila Bay on a Tuesday cruise from Corregidor. Fourteen people were injured, none seriously, as the impact halted the craft and knocked many to the deck. Several tourists required stitches, with one man suffering a broken arm. The ship Dona Fiorentina ferried the injured to Limay hospital while the vessel’s engines failed. Tourism officials pledged to cover medical costs.
