Bombs Hit Irish Fire Station And Belfast Firms

In Belfast and County Londonderry bombs damaged a fire station and several businesses as threats preceded a defiant Enniskillen march. Bombs wrecked a Dungiven fire engine, hit a furniture store, finance offices, and a handkerchief factory. Gunmen warned workers as they invaded sites. Separately, a body with wired metal was found in a drainage ditch north of Knights Landing, and a Sacramento man faced murder charges in Ohio. The period also saw renewed Irish border booby traps and a nationwide British power blackout amid emergency measures and restrictions on electrical use across the country.
