House Committee May Investigate Nixon's Friend
MIAMI UPI Congressman Wright Patman may open an inquiry into an SBA backed deal involving Charles Bebe Rebozo, a friend of President Nixon, and Miami developer CYW Trice Jr. The 34,000 square foot shopping center for Cuban exile businessmen cost $900,000 with a 20 year rent guarantee totaling about $2.4 million, arranged by the SBA two years before Nixon’s election. Rebozo and Trice expect rent payments regardless of business success, prompting Patman to consider a broad investigation of the SBA role and similar deals nationwide.
