Richardson Bay Truce in Sausalito Houseboat Controversy
In Sausalito California residents face a long running clash over a Richardson Bay houseboat colony. a 1960s style clash peaked with a July battle as deputies confronted a flotilla of boats. Four arrests followed and a pledge to avoid direct tactics until sewer connections are installed. Artist Christopher Roberts envisions a floating art center built from WWII dry docks, with a redwood tower prototype already underway in Sausalito, but officials have shown limited interest.
