Fremont school board protests use of student workers
Two trustees Gloria Carr and Inez Russ objected to employing Irvington High School students as custodians during a three day November sickout. Superintendent Ferguson defended the practice saying students were hired in past absences and that no strike existed since workers were sick. The board unanimously approved paying the students involved despite the objections.

The plan requires monthly veteran class cards, signatures from instructors, and a dedicated clerk for records, with restricted access to files and supervision on the job.
