Lor Nickmatt of Alameda County was named first runner-up and Miss Congeniality at Cal Expo in the Maid of California contest. Leslie Senders of Inyo County was crowned Maid of California. 11 year old Miss Hickman, from Pleasanton, joined four other finalists after July Alameda County win.

Freighter Evacuates Refugees From Timor
