Union City approves park bond and bus system bid

Union City officials on Monday night placed a 185 thousand dollar park bond on the November ballot and approved a Hayward firm to operate the permanent transit system. The tax rate would rise about 17 to 19 cents if the bond passes, with 54 thousand dollars earmarked for Deento area development. The council also adopted the Bay Area Transportation Corp. bid to run the system, projecting annual operating costs around 300 thousand dollars with the bid at 227 thousand. The tax rate for 1975-75 was set at 1.873 per hundred, costing a 32 thousand dollar home about 104.55, of which 14.84 funds transit operations. A performance bond is required before contract issuance.

Justice hall site to be discussed by county supervisors

The South County Hall of Justice project, a $6 million building planned for 10 acres at Fremont Pasco Jade Parkway and Wisbul Road, will be reviewed by Alureed County Supervisors at next Tuesday morning meeting in Oakland. Charles Santana and John J Murphy urged the item and County Administrator Loren Raneh was asked to prepare a progress report. The board previously chose this Fremont site over Newark and Union Hack pade sections.

House that’s not a home irks Fremont residents
