Scouts Hold Mock Trial At Fremont Newark Courthouse
Girl Scout Troop 2879 and Boy Scout Troop 198 staged a mock trial at the Fremont Newark Municipal Courthouse with Judge Joseph W. Jay and lawyers. Robert Jones was sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years probation. his cousin D Jones faced 12 5 for theft and a year probation. Tom Smith was acquitted. The exercise aimed to show arraignment to probation in a court system and drew curious spectators including scout leaders and officers.
