Redwood bicentennial project trees planted in Bay Area schools

Barbara Rose of Hayward led a bicentennial tree planting program with Margie Duarte assisting at 41 Alameda County high schools. Redwoods were labeled cherry trees for the California celebration. The effort honors liberty trees used by the sons of liberty and raised funds via bicentennial jewelry sales.

La Leche League Fremont Meets to Continue Feeding Series

La Leche League of Fremont hosts the next session of its four part breast feeding series at 7:90 p.m. in Pat Perkins home. The topic is Nutrition and Weaning. Women may attend and reservations are via Evelyn Olson at 736-1483. The Fremoint Chamber of Commerce two year old Women’s Division has been disbanded due to time conflicts and members’ desire for other chamber activity. A new committees will take over former divisions duties per Ms Boas.
