Vinita Indiana Sept 17. George Nipper once wealthy in Indian Territory reappears in Denver claiming a false name Illiams. He suffered amnesia after paralysis and had been missing for ten years. His wife had collected $1000 from his policy and remarried. Arrangements are made to return him to Claremore to be cared for by his separated wife.

Collision of Elevated Trains Injures Five

Five persons were seriously injured and three passenger trains on the South Side elevated lines were thrown into a panic after a collision last night. The leading train stopped at Sixty third street station when a compressed air tank cylinder head blew, releasing brakes and sending the car backward into the second train, which then struck the third.

Unofficial returns from 36 counties show Garber leading Wilson 5305 to 4792. Wiregrass counties, Wilson strongholds, could narrow Garber’s margin. Dr. Charke Whelan predicts Garber to win by about 2500 overall, including 1100 in Jefferson County with Birmingham precincts favoring him.

Western Union Officials Inspect Southern Network Tour

Western Union Telegraph officials led by Brooks Barclay and Bristol passed through the city last night en route to Atlanta from Birmingham. The group rode a private car to inspect offices and lines across the southern division as J. M. Stephens and Rafford accompanied them.

Memphis Sept 17 David Blackburn a Tipton county planter placed a revolver to his head and fired three bullets ending his life. He had killed a man named Griggs years earlier and was acquitted but the memory weighed heavily on him.
