The Noble Theatre offers a boxing exhibition by Jimmie Britt with a soldier boy as the second act tonight. The program switches to Loew's vaudeville tomorrow with high class acts and pictures for the balance of the week, drawing a large crowd.
Twenty five or more residents were arrested by military police on the military pike for traffic offenses. Violations include failing to sound the horn, driving without lights, and speeding. Cases were continued on the police court docket and will be disposed of tomorrow morning.
A 750 to 800 pound brown mare mule is listed as lost with a reward offered for return to D P Self in Dallas area. Major Slaughter was found guilty in police court and given a street sentence. Charlie Herron notes it is tough to place a major on the streets, but in this case Rover is cleared.

City Clerk W. C. Ward announces several hundred copies of the city's traffic ordinance printed in pamphlet form. The pamphlets include all laws in the police jurisdiction and motorists are expected to become familiar with them.
Forty years ago Number 40 For The Blood claimed to cure the worst forms of a blood poisoning. It described symptoms such as mucous patches copper colored spots bone ache ulcers hair loss gland swelling skin pimples and digestive issues. The ad promotes No 46 in a blue carton signed by J C Mendenhall a veteran Evansville druggist sold by Scarbrough Drug Co.
Mobile county man Stanley Dixon requests a full pardon from the state board of pardons to join the army and restore citizenship. Colonel Maddox urges clemency after Dixon’s six year sentence for assault with intent to murder, two years served. Quinelly, the victim, has recommended release. Governor Henderson grants parole to Jackson Mathis and absolves L L Stewart from a cruelty fine in related actions.
The annual meeting of stockholders of Woodstock Cotton Mills will be held at the company office in Anniston Alabama on October 1 1917 at 10 a m for electing directors for the ensuing year and to transact any other business that may properly come before the meeting. J B Cook Secretary.
Rufe Goggins, private in Company H, 17th Infantry, stationed at Ort Oglethorpe, was detained by military police this morning and sent back to camp. He returned home for a visit without proper credentials from his commanding officer and spent most of the day in arrest awaiting his train.
