Boston Blacks Denounce Alabama's Negro Educator
The Suffrage league of Boston, a negro organization, adopted resolutions denouncing Booker T. Washington. They accuse him of glorifying southern constitutions, minimizing Jim Crow outrages, attacking the 14th and 15th amendments, deprecating the ballot, and urging silent submission. Arwood Succumbs to Assassin Shot in Jenifer
Mr J A Arwood dies from injuries after a shooting by a Black man at Jenifer He died at home near Seventeenth street and Moore avenue and will be laid to rest in Knoxville Tennessee His death is mourned by a wife and children and his assassin remains at large. He had been supervising tare loading when the assailant, once discharged earlier, returned and fired.

Inwood New York September 2 Reverend Gilbert Combs aged 79 collapsed during a prayer at St Paul church and was found dead from heart failure. The incident occurred in the pulpit as he spoke to the congregation.
