On His Track City Oct 21 Police chase leads to suspect as Rosa McMahon and two women are found dead in a house. Initial search found a man named Vansoyer but investigators later located the suspect near the residence, the scene partially concealed.
In a troubled scene many merchants left Chinatown today due to ongoing hardship and inability to operate further. Officials report Elsie Sigel as guiding figures amid the turmoil while observers expect more departures in the coming weeks.

The declination of Hon. W B Craig to seek reelection opens the field for candidates in the Fourth Alabama district. Mentioned are Alex M Garber attorney general C C Whitson of Talladega Fred J Blackmon of this city and Dr B Dudley Williams of Oxford who may enter. Dr Williams ran nine years ago but withdrew when no primary was held. Sydney Bowie was nominated by the convention and has since not campaigned due to ill health until now.
W P Acker reported from Montgomery where Citizens Bank and Trust Co of Chattanooga sues for the balance of 5000 after receiving 16000 of a 21000 claim against the estate of the defunct First National Bank of Attalla. The Attalla bank failed May 1906 with T M Thornton as receiver. The suit follows prior lower court ruling and an appeal in the circuit court of appeals in Montgomery.
Harvey W. Laird of the State Superintendent’s office reports Southern Superintendents of Education are on a second annual education tour. They travel Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin with Illinois, studying rural and agricultural schools and university service led by Dr. Wickliffe Rose. J. W. Jim Davis, a youth described as a negro, was convicted in City court for highway robbery near the W. J. Edmondson residence on July 9. Wallace Aderhold testified he was robbed after being asked to buy shoes, and Davis and Montgomery were accused of forcefully taking cash from the boy. Davis was bound over to the grand jury and later sentenced to twenty years. Montgomery received a $100 fine and six months for carrying a concealed pistol.
New York Oct 21 The Union Pacific directors elected Judge R S Lovett as president to succeed the late Edward Harriman. The retiring officers were re elected and the executive committee includes Lovett Henry Frick Marvin Hughitt and Frank Vanderlip in the top posts.
The condition of McCarren is improved as Brooklyn leaders renounce and depose him to restore harmony. Assembly district leaders privately acknowledge he will no longer lead the Brooklyn Democratic machine and shift allegiance to Murphy of Tammany.
Major General Elwell Otis retired from service died this morning in New York after a period of senile debility and a severe cold. He served in the Civil War and the Spanish American War and was born in Maryland.
