Mr. J B Carrington, seen at the Alabama, says negotiations for the Woodstock iron works purchase are progressing and could be concluded, though no final agreement or definite news date exists. Heinsheimer, former company president, was in town yesterday to advance the talks.
Washington reports from the department of commerce and labor show interstate movements in October compare favorably with a year ago despite fewer grain and livestock shipments due to car shortages. Chicago packing house product shipments totaled 231,555,006 pounds, down from 294,491,037 last year, with 4,181,000 pounds canned meats. He also served as railroad adviser to J P Morgan & Co and achieved extensive influence in American railroading.
