One tablet with water in the morning purges the system, restores appetite, and allows any diet. Genuine Calotabs sold only in sealed packages at thirty five cents, druggist guaranteed.
Montgomery Nov 28 Special Reopening a former case Birmingham Civic Association will petition the public service commission to set proportional rates between Birmingham and Cordova and Madison on Warrior river for root shipments. Rail lines involved include Atlanta Birmingham and Atlantic Alabama Great Southern Birmingham Southern Central of Georgia Illinois Central Louisville and Nashville St Louis Sanboard and Southern. Other docket items include Sumter and Choctaw Railway petition for daily service between laws and Lithia and residents of another freight and passenger station proposal.
A special Thanksgiving service is announced at the First Presbyterian Church. The service emphasizes gratitude for faith, dedication, and sacrifice as the world faces conflict, urging worship and prayer for strength and peace.
An old advertisement links constipation to headaches and promotes Dr Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin as a gentle laxative. It touts no habit forming drugs, pleasant taste, and suitability for children, offering a trial bottle free by writing to Dr W B Caldwell, 456 reads St Monticello Illinois.
Captain Potter Smith was named permanent chief of Montgomery police by the safety board, succeeding Henry B. Loux amid differences within the department and the military police. Smith, an eighteen year veteran, pledged cooperation with Colonel Croasen and to aid the crackdown on crime and traffic as the force expands during heavy street traffic.
Washington on November 28 The House may decide the fate of the nationwide prohibition amendment soon after Congress resumes. A special use is being prepared by the house files committee to vote on the amendment before Christmas unless opposition arises. Speaker Clark predicted the House would press the amendment forward. The act passed the Senate last week.
Adjutant General G J Tabbard announced that every registrant exempt by any local board before December 15 must answer the questionnaire called for December 15. Exemptions are cancelled except in two cases. those already in military service or ordered for entrainment are not required to answer.
