Neary A Young vice president of the First National Bank received from chairman Wellborn of the Federal Reserve Bank the first Federal Reserve Bank note displayed in the city. Selma Alabama November 28 Clay Day a well known Bibb county resident was shot in the right thigh while hunting near Ashby. A companion in the party fired at a bird that rose from the field the load entering Day's thigh nearly tearing the leg from the body. He was moved by special train to Selma infirmary where doctors tended the wound. The injury is not at present fatal though complications could arise.
Montgomery Alabama November 27 military companies from Florence New Decatur Gadeden Alabama City and Tallase arrived in Montgomery for four days of practice on the state rifle range at Pickett Spring.
It is officially announced that the Turkish force east of Berum has been completely routed and has fallen back. Russian forces report a decisive advance with heavy casualties and several captures.
London reports a magazine explosion on the battleship Bulwark after a Lyddite shell allegedly dropped by careless crewmen. Many bodies wash ashore, with at least 25 identified including ship officers.
