Special to the Star reports that political offenders are again being exiled to Siberia and Northern Russia. Authorities conceal the resumption, sending batches of exiles in secret under cover of darkness. Last night a group of 300 was dispatched to Northern Russia.
Assistant District Attorney Garvan denies the claim that Stanford White carried a pistol during his murder by Harry Thaw. He says Lionel Lawrence, manager of the theater company at the roof garden that night, is seeking notoriety and is not credible.
Etowah county seeks relief from crowded courts as population and crime rise. Proposals include two divisions of the city court with two judges or a new circuit court division covering Etowah Blount and Cherokee counties with a resident judge. A committee led by Motley Hood Martin Boykin and Cullis to draft suggestions for Thursday’s meeting.

In Selma two postal employees captured Emile Blevins a Negro boy as he opened mail boxes. Nat Huggins former night clerk at the Selma post office was arrested later charged with aiding the robbery. Huggins had been suspended and reinstated by the postmistress and later indicted for delaying the mails. He was bonded at 250 dollars and was a waiter at the Hotel Arcadia.
Dan Pacetti, described in the report as a negro, was found guilty of rape and sentenced to 99 years in the penitentiary. The crime involved his own 12 year old daughter, and he narrowly avoided a death sentence by one jury vote.
Police court heard Jim Young a reputably shady man used a flim flam game on fellow inmates at the city prison last Sunday. He swindled $5 to ease his own drink trouble but the recorder taxed him $12.70 in penalties today.
