City council hears offer to boost Anniston growth
Mr. Howard W. Sexton of Anniston Electric and Gas asks postponement of the electric supply contract and a special meeting next week where he will present a high significance proposal. Mr. White of Birmingham seeks 90 day delay on the electric franchise to allow R. H. Cobb to bid. White says Coosa River Electric Power has 7000 hp primary capacity and 500 hp secondary, with Eastern promoters financing. Sexton vows offer is financed. Other actions include wagon repairs for Daniel Tyler and a phonograph dealer license tax, with transfer petition by F L Littlejohn referred to the finance committee.
