Berlin reports the final assault on Przemysl has begun as the Russian forces push the siege. Bulkharean entry into the war appears tied to disrupted lines between Bulgaria and Servia. A Sofia dispatch says Servia and Turkey have declared war. Turk ministers resign over war opposition. The Austro cruiser Kaiserin Elizabeth sunk in Kiachau Bay as reported by Tekio.
The Btepuditeans elected Ames Wadsworth as United States Senator with a stated margin. Whitman appears to have carried the gubernatorial ticket by a smaller lead. The note references Nephi and a numbered vote tally around 185 4900.

C T Revere a New York magazine writer told Governor O Neal that unity among states is essential to ease the cotton market crisis and that no one can craft a practical relief plan. He refused to urge an extraordinary Alabama legislative session, saying only a mature market will fix prices.

Velma Coker, 10, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.F. Coker, died when a hillside timber rolled onto her in Talades county near Lincoln. The funeral was held at Eureka Springs Wednesday. A federal court adjourned after two days with multiple defendants sentenced or allowed to prepare for penitentiary terms.
