Explosion near Lookout Mountain kills and injures in Chattanooga
A premature blast at the Stevenson extension near Lookout mountain devastates structures. Three men die on the spot, three more are mortally injured, and two others seriously hurt as rock hurls through a bridge and into Chattanooga creek. An engineer and a fireman die from debris, and four Greek workers are wounded. The blast, set by J Ford under orders from Yarnell Bros. contractors, had no warning.
