Special to the Star Boise Idaho May 9 1906 William D Haywood secretary treasurer of the Western Federation of Miners goes on trial at 10 am for the murder of former Governor Frank Steunenberg on December 30 1905. Defense includes James F Murphy E J Richardson 8 Darrow Fred Miller and John F Nugent. Prosecution led by J R Hawley with Senator W E Borah assisting. No socialist meetings will be permitted during the trial.

Horses Run Amok Hitting Store Window In Anniston
A pair of horses attached to a wagon escaped from Miller Ingram and bolted down Twelfth Street. They smashed the northeast entrance and plate glass at the Anniston City Furniture Company, injuring one horse and scattering glass while Ingram escaped unharmed. Frank E. Roberts, the defaulting register clerk of the Anniston post office, was arrested in Los Angeles. A telegram to Chief of Police Werde Dal advised authorities to extradite him.
