Berlin May 5. Eighty people were seriously injured and hundreds slightly hurt as crowds at Unter den Linden surged during the dispersal after the meeting of the German and Austrian emperors. Police controlled the crush but many were trampled in the blocked side streets.
The Central Foundry company relocates to new, larger offices just west of the new foundry building. Manager A. L. Tyler Jr., bookkeeper E. P. Cooper, and clerk Wallace Cater are settled in. Plant additions progress with much completed. R. O. Watson to move safe. Phone 72.
Manila reports American forces occupy Martinique near Luzon after insurgents retreat inland. Insurgent governor surrenders four towns to Major Case as troops advance twenty five miles to receive the surrender. President Alcala of Tugelo is sentenced by a military commission to five years hard labor and a fine of 2000 pesos.
A meeting of the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers last night endorsed six o clock closing. The Noble lodge No 2 A A of S and T W of the United States and the committee signed and sealed the endorsement in support of the store clerks in Anniston. Sampson Sanders, J E Livingston, John Glosson served on the committee.
Free vaccination will be offered at City Hall tomorrow from to 6 with many physicians present to vaccinate all who come. Fresh virus samples have arrived and officials expect to immunize nearly all residents seeking the service.
The Anniston division will see two schedule changes tomorrow. The southbound train arrives at 11 30 a m five minutes later than before while the northbound now arriving at 1 40 p m will be at 4 10 p m. The update helps travelers visit Anniston trade and return same day. A new sleeper service between Mobile and Birmingham passed through the city today from Atlanta toward that division.

In Spokane, May 5, Lansdon British Columbia, a major Spokane district town, was utterly destroyed by fire. The blaze left twelve hundred families homeless and ruined, with losses over half a million dollars and likely to reach a million though insurance scarcely exceeds twenty five thousand. Sandon is a mining town in the West Kootenay district.
Manila dispatch reports General Elwell Otis sailed today for America aboard an unspecified transport. The cablegram confirms his departure from the Philippines capital and sets a return to U.S. command in motion.

Dr H D Barr of this city operates a promising ore property seven miles from Anniston between Bynoms and Bulaton. A mountain of ore with virgin bed outcrops draws a large workforce and growing shipping facilities as a railroad spur nears the mine. Barr, who discovered the ore in 1867, shows confidence in vast, easily mined reserves and substantial activity today.
