Berlin Stampede Injures Eighty at Imperial Meeting

Berlin May 5. Eighty people were seriously injured and hundreds slightly hurt as crowds at Unter den Linden surged during the dispersal after the meeting of the German and Austrian emperors. Police controlled the crush but many were trampled in the blocked side streets.

American Troops Quietly Occupy Martinique Off Luzon

Manila reports American forces occupy Martinique near Luzon after insurgents retreat inland. Insurgent governor surrenders four towns to Major Case as troops advance twenty five miles to receive the surrender. President Alcala of Tugelo is sentenced by a military commission to five years hard labor and a fine of 2000 pesos.

A meeting of the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers last night endorsed six o clock closing. The Noble lodge No 2 A A of S and T W of the United States and the committee signed and sealed the endorsement in support of the store clerks in Anniston. Free vaccination will be offered at City Hall tomorrow from to 6 with many physicians present to vaccinate all who come. Fresh virus samples have arrived and officials expect to immunize nearly all residents seeking the service.

Southern Schedule Shifts Tomorrow For Anniston Division

The Anniston division will see two schedule changes tomorrow. The southbound train arrives at 11 30 a m five minutes later than before while the northbound now arriving at 1 40 p m will be at 4 10 p m. The update helps travelers visit Anniston trade and return same day. A new sleeper service between Mobile and Birmingham passed through the city today from Atlanta toward that division.
