A Vancouver report states the steamer Seckett was wrecked off Beachy Head near Victoria with 39 lives lost. The vessel was driven off course in high winds, struck rocks, capsized, and lifeboats were swamped by large waves.
City Revenue Collector P. G. Meain and H. C. Zaner returned to Aniton from Clay and Randolph counties bringing a 100 gallon copper still. Officers captured and destroyed still plants in both counties since last Thursday.
J. T. Watt of Talladega in Birmingham to arrange placing a farm demonstration worker in Jefferson county. He will confer with officials of the department as the note continues on the eighth page.

William J. Cummins, New York financier, exits court on a 50000 bail amid three indictments for allegedly stealing 385000 from the Carnegie Trust Company. In Lexington Kentucky March 25 two engineers were shot during a pitched battle as a foremen strike at the Queen and Crescent railroad escalated.
