Four pistol shots rang from an upper room at 709 Wilmer avenue as A M Falls fired at J Reppy after a confrontation with Mrs Falls. Falls was fined $50 and costs for his conduct while Reppy was discharged on a trespass charge.

Washington June 21 The amendment to Tafts tariff on corporations will be presented to the Senate this afternoon. It is expected that the debate will likely continue at Congress adjournment in August. Thirty eight more paragraphs in the tariff remain to be considered.
Police believe they have William Leon the Chinaman who killed Elsie Siegel, a mission worker. Jealousy with Cha Gain, restaurant owner, is cited as the motive. Leon fled toward the Pacific coast and China. nationwide manhunt underway.
J B Carrington will continue as manager of the Woodstock furnaces for the receivers. J M Barr president and receiver has returned to the city and it was stated Monday the plant would probably resume operations by July 5 after refining the larger furnace continued without interruption.
Fifty two national and state banks filed for an injunction to restrain enforcement of the state guaranty of deposits law. They argue the measure is confiscatory and unconstitutional, opposing the Bryan backed statute.
In Hobson City a street confrontation over liquor left Bill Allen shot in the neck by City Marshal Clark Hurd. Hurd, who surrendered in Anniston, says he acted to prevent being shot. Allen's supporters claim unprovoked attack. The wound may be fatal while an official investigation awaits Allen’s status.

Annis ton Electric & Gas Company sues Southern Railway alleging overcharge on steam coil rates. Fleetrie & Gas Company also charged higher rates for nonproducing shipments. NAMES MEN HIGHER, NEW YORK, June 21. George White convicted in smuggling cases and sent to the Atlanta penitentiary has named men higher up who he says are implicated. Names not revealed but said to include prominent men.
