Attorney McLeod Charged in Post Office Conspiracy
A. N. McLeod was arrested by Deputy Marshal W. W. Battle and charged before Commissioner Randolph with conspiring to defraud the government by identifying a person as 8. K E Moor at the local post office. Beavers claimed McLeod would receive a fee for the identification as part of the forged money order scheme. McLeod bound over to the grand jury under a $200 bond. supporters insist on his innocence.
