Fifteen Mexican bandits struck the T. A. Coleman ranch at San Manuel near Laredo and seized eighty three horses after driving out the workers. The same group reportedly raided nearby Johnson and Coleman ranches and captured two American cowboys, George Conover and Arthur Myers, later released near Palafox, Texas. A cavalry detachment was sent to the area as foreman George R. Alexander and three men, pursuing on horseback, were forced to flee when ambushed by Mexicans while nine miles from the Rio Grande.
Cel Waterman of Kachita New Mexico reports to General Funston that a Mes jean band attacked a three man patrol from Troop K 12th Cavalry on Saturday night near San Antonio, wounding Private Lee Sanders.
