Pension Examiners to Meet in Anniston July 1901
The Board of Pension Examiners of Calhoun county will convene at Wikle's Drug Store in Anniston on the first Monday in July 1901 for ten days to consider applications. Under the amended law proof of service may be an honorable discharge or parole without two witness affidavits. Reapplications are allowed for prior denials, with grounds noted by the State board. Widows must prove widowhood with two witnesses if not on the pension roll at death. All applicants must appear for examination unless travel is impossible.
Anniston Carpet Mill Lands Big Salt Lake City Order
The Anniston Carpet company received an order from Salt Lake City Utah for twenty five rolls of carpet to be shipped before July 1st. The mill is one of the citys most successful plants under Manager James Buckler and is praised for sound up to date business practices.
