Trenton July 29 The Souther Car and Foundry Company was formally declared bankrupt by the court on return day of proceedings started by Standard Steel Car of Pittsburgh. The firm, already under receivers, had no defense against the bankruptcy order. Placerville July 29 Escaped Folsom prison convicts freed guards after flight. Twelve remain at large. one was shot and killed. leader 8 M Gordon deserted and went into the mountains. Pursuing officers are instructed to shoot the convicts as capture or death is expected soon.
