Over 40 automobiles in the Glidden tour arrived at Jersey City at noon and headed to New York after a 1500 mile trek. In Trenton the party reached the last lap of their journey from Cleveland to New York amid an enthusiastic welcome.
Huntsville July 24 The Third regiment Alabama National Guard closed camp early this morning and by nightfall most officers and men will be home The delay in the paymaster department means they will not receive pay until they return home Company commanders will receive checks for all counts due while here
The Star corrects an earlier story about thefts near Alexandria attributing them to a negro. It notes the initial report created an erroneous impression and clarifies that the suspect is the father of the thefts and has fled, with his departure not regretted.
Cheyenne Wyoming hosts the seventh annual Frontier Days celebration starting tomorrow. Crowds from Denver and other points attend as more than 1,000 participants take part in cowboy and Indian races bucking and steer roping contests band concerts and dances.

The Third regiment Alabama National Guard soldiers finish a week at Huntsville camp and start returning home. Anniston and Oxford companies arrive this afternoon via a special train on the L. & N. railway. Talladega Sylacauga and Alexander City units pass through en route home. Oxford company will be met at Union depot and taken to Oxford rockheed.
The Farmers Union Warehouse Company board met at City National Bank to receive bids for warehouse construction. Some bids were missing at the morning session, a second meeting was held, and the contract is not expected to be awarded today. The board plans to decide soon and start construction to meet this season's needs.
Clarence L. Harding of Harding & Up man inspected the Anniston Weather Bureau building calling it finest and most complete ever seen. Harding spoke with local observer W F Clarke during his first Anniston inspection.
Atlanta July 24 The Georgia house of representatives is debating the Hardeman prohibition bill with amendments aimed at regulating dispensing of pure alcohol by prescription. Prohibition leaders plan two amendments to allow wholesale stock for druggists and professional use by surgeons and physicians.
The Birmingham Ledger reports Will Fox an iron molder from Bessemer shot Mat tie Lever after accusing her of desertion and then killed himself before help could arrive. Jealousy cited as the motive. Fox and the woman had lived in Anniston. Fox’s burial might occur locally.

A Kosciusko mass meeting urged Maj. George L. Teat of Gov. Vardaman's staff to leave Mississippi forever to end the Monday outrage uproar. Teat, a lawyer and prominent military figure, faced a $1000 bond after arrest on an alleged attempt to assault a young woman. preliminary trial set for tomorrow.
Washington reports that after the North Carolina rail rate dispute with federal authorities, formal charges against Judge Pritchard are anticipated when Congress reconvenes in December. State officials and judges plan to sign a complaint asserting overreach of powers and interference with state enforcement of laws.

Greenville Pa July 24 a head on collision on the P B T K line caused the conductor to be killed and 5 persons seriously and 12 slightly injured.
At the Alabama Consolidated Coal and Iron furnace in Gadsden on July 24 a large locomotive and two hot pots rolled off a slag precipice over 100 feet. The engine and pots were wrecked though workers escaped injury by leaping to safety.
