In New York on July 14 officials contend friends of Mrs Florence Carman plot to influence Nassau County authorities. They say the plan seeks to test testimony before a grand jury and to steer a murder indictment toward a lesser degree. The Carman family holds county influence and two jurors resigned over fear of bias due to their ties to the doctor and Mrs Carman.
Local citizens say funds will be raised to fight the case and seek a governor’s commutation. They claim the effort will affect beyond Calhoun county and Alabama, with other states touched, and urge the names of signers be printed in the newspaper columns.
The Nelms sisters are alleged to be held prisoner near Houston Texas, with police in Atlanta and reports tying the case to real estate dealer L P Weathers and letters involving Dennis Innes. Georgia authorities dispute sightings in Mississippi and Gulfport while a wider Hunt continues with media help from Hearst papers.

They consider Redmonds cable urging support and contemplate a national convention in October in Boston or Philadelphia with leaders like John Redmond Dillon and Devlin expected.
Washington July 14 President Wilson suffers indigestion and cancels all engagements remaining in bed on doctor Grayson orders. The illness is not considered serious though and follows a dinner hosted by Secretary Lane last night.
Mrs Minnie Higginbotham faces alienation of affections charges in a suit filed by Mrs Ada Langston seeking 5000 dollars. Attachments seized funds at two local banks. Langston's husband D L Langston operates a West Tenth plumbing shop. Sproull, Anniston Hardware president, backs a Montgomery Anniston highway as regional growth to Talladega and Childersburg, with weather and theft notes for Rockford trip.
In Pleasantdale New Jersey a mule bucked to defend itself as bees swarmed the barn. The action knocked loose a wall piece revealing a rusty tin box containing 94 dollars in bills hidden inside.
Vera Cruz July 16 Two revolutions are said to have broken out in Mexico with General Huerta backing one. Octavo Campero says ex-president of the Mexican congress Hernandez has organized Oaxaca Indians for Felix Diaz and Huerta has handed many arms to him. Tlacotalpan garrison has revolted in support of Diaz and vows to back him for the presidency.
News from Mexico City reports Victoriano Huerta fled the capital as Francisco Carbajal assumed the presidency provisional order was pledged to be restored and relations with the United States pursued. Foreigners were warned to stay off streets as marines may be sent to Vera Cruz. Huerta and his entourage boarded a special train and headed for Porto with plans for Europe.
