Terrific winds of about fifty miles per hour plowed through Duck Springs and western Etowah County Saturday, destroying barns and fences valued at $25,000. Several homes were wrecked or badly damaged including those of R Whitt Joe Guest and Bud Guest, George Givens Beeson, Tom Jones, and G W Hardin. A negro man was killed.
