Anticipated Fatal Encounter Ends with Death of Lt Scott

The long feud between Col Colson and Lt Scott culminated in a fatal Tuesday death in Frankfort. The dispute traced to a 11 month old Camp Shipp incident in which Colson, then a colonel, fought Scott at Percy Olmstead's restaurant. Colson was arrested on murder charges following the climactic events.

Governor Johnston's Appointments Spark Division Over Speaking Time

The governor announced speaking hours at Thomas Ville Boshi Campbell Coffeeville Falupa and Jackson. The Morgan committee later echoed identical hours dates and places for Mr Bowie. Florence January 18. A jury of inquest charges Marshall Boyle, a young farmer, with the assassination of Judge W. B. McClure on January 9. The verdict cites circums tancial evidence linking Boyle to the crime and notes a motive from prior money disputes. A preliminary hearing is expected before Judge E. B. Almon.

Beaty will case verdict favors Hobson of Memphis

Democratic Party Adopts County Primary Plan

The county executive committee met behind closed doors and voted to hold a county primary on the first Tuesday of next March to select nominees for all county offices. A second primary would occur on March 22 if no candidate wins a majority. A county convention is set for April 18 to choose legislators and delegates.

The Calhoun county executive committee met at 12 30 in the city court room. Chairman H P Thomason led roll call revealing several resignations and the election of replacements G W Burdette J W McElreath J F M Davis to fill vacancies.
