Ponce Believed Safe After Sea Sighting Toward Bermuda
The steamship Ponce of the New York & Porto Rico line, missing since December, is now reported safe though disabled. In Bermuda tow of two tugs the Ponce heads for Murray's anchorage while all passengers and crew are confirmed safe. Disruption was caused by a broken shaft with the vessel last sighted December 26 by the Shenandoah.

Ed Seaman and Ed Farmer Bound Over for Trespass
County Court proceedings report Ed Seaman and Ed Farmer arrested for trespass. They appeared before Judge Crook and were bound over to the grand jury. The incident followed their drunken visit to the Southern railroad junction where they allegedly threatened the boy operator E A Ray and attempted to drive him from the station. Runaway Coal Train Collides Crashing 1000 Tons Spilled
In Hazleton Pennsylvania on January 11 a 48 car coal train ran uncontrolled down a hill and crashed into an empty consist at Black Creek Junction. Engineer Perry Barigo was killed and Fireman Downey injured as about 1000 tons of coal tumbled down the mountainside.
