About four hundred men lined up outside the Southern Express office on Friday demanding their whisky and other orders. Police were called to protect the agent as crowds tried to take booze without service, with over 1600 dollars reportedly sent away in a single day to celebrate Christmas.
New York December 24 Rail unions announce the January 23 submission of wage demands by 125000 switchmen conductors and flagmen to railroads west of the Mississippi. They warn that without a grant or settlement the country will face a massive and crippling strike.

In Dahlonega Georgia last night Mark Crow shot and killed Homer Parks and fatally wounded Henry Parks amid a mountain feud authorities said.
In Birmingham a fire at W. R. O'Rourke's grocery led to a confrontation with neighbor M. Serews. Serews allegedly fired a pistol, wounding O'Rourke twice and risking a fatal outcome. Also reported are the death of Miss Jean Clemens in Redding and a Canadian Pacific train wreck at Hudbury with hundreds wounded.
Mobile scene reports Joseph Powe a prominent farmer near Lalmbert Alabama was shot in the head by an unknown assailant as he answered a summons at his door with his wife nearby. The brains were scattered around the doorway.
Rome report states Cardinal SatelliT’s condition worsened as blood poisoning developed, with his health condition deteriorating on December 24.
William Gould Brokaw offered a reconciliation proposal to his wife who is pursuing a divorce. she has not responded. In Birmingham Alabama Lee Long, head of anti amendment forces, wrote to State Chairman White on December 24.

The Chamber of Commerce has not secured additional funds, as Southern Railway weighs a separate station and Seaboard has not contracted with L and N. The plan includes a shed to replace a wind damaged one and a new track possibly for Seaboard use.

The local Salvation Army under Captain and Mrs. McAfee distributed one hundred baskets today to the city’s poor. Each basket holds a Christmas dinner for five persons as the corps has focused efforts for some time.
