Policeman Shot in Restricted District After Midnight Gun Battle
Officer Jack Holland was fatally wounded and P R Ivins of Nashville seriously wounded in a pistol duel with a drunken crowd in a restricted district shortly after midnight. Major Gray and W N Barton are jailed, Barton suspected of firing the shots. Ivins was guarded at the hospital. the incident followed an internal revenue service employee arrest and a gunfight as Holland chased Ivins from 1507 Glen Addie toward Fifteenth Street.
