Interstate Commerce Commission rules a five per cent rail rate rise is allowed east of the Mississippi River in most cases. The ruling excludes increases since July 29. Clements and Harlan dissented, but the decision cites new conditions and the need to keep railroads in proper shape.
Cowikee mills of Eufaula part of the Comer enterprises reports the largest single order of white goods, 750000 yards of blacking shipped to Aden Arabia. The goods bear the mark Made au ISA and production continues without pause since the year's start, with several weeks needed to finish.
Forrest Adair was reelected potentate of the Yaarab Temple Shriners in Atlanta after a closely fought race with Walter P. Andrews.
