In Russellville on December 16, preparations for the legal hanging of Tom Robertson, the dual murderer of Mrs. Mattie Robertson and Mrs. J. W. Clark, are complete in the jail yard. If carried out, he would be the first Franklin County man hanged in seventy-five years and possibly the only white man ever legally executed there.
