City of Anniston to be Represented at World's Fair
Anniston will exhibit at the World’s Fair next year, coordinated with Birmingham Mobile Montgomery Huntsville and other Alabama cities. J A McKnight of Birmingham will lecture December 18 to raise funds for the World’s Fair. A committee including John B Knox and Paul J Murphy to explore eastern propositions.

Former Annistonian J. H. Hill Dies in Tallapoosa
Mr. J. H. Hill formerly of Anniston died in Tallapoosa Georgia after a months long illness. He served as chief clerk in the Southern railroad freight office here and was recently promoted to Tallapoosa agent. A Blue Mountain lodge Odd Fellow, he was cousin to A M Hill of Woodstock mills and native of Greenville. His remains will likely be sent there for interment.

Veterans in Beauvoir Home Opened for Civil War Vets
In Jackson Mississippi Beauvoir the home of Jefferson Davis opened today to Civil War veterans from Mississippi regiments. The quiet opening had no ceremony with Superintendent Stone and secretary T M Henry welcoming each veteran as repairs delayed the planned first of the month opening. Mayor Henderson Receives Salary Increase at City Council
The city council raised Mayor Henderson O Z Ilsoderaon salary from 50 to 100 dollars per month by increasing duties. An ordinance creating a 50 dollar a month purchasing agent post was passed with Mayor Henderson elected to the role. Several tax exemptions and ordinances were approved or discussed, including exemptions for Kilby Locomotive Works and Central Foundry, a three year exemption for Adelaide cotton mills, a three year railroad crossing watchman requirement, and an 18 year age limit on billiard rooms with a 10 dollar penalty. The meeting adjourned after bills were paid and resignations noted.

Demise Due to Fever in Seddon Alabama
Arthur Glidewell of Seddon Alabama died after several days of fever. He was 25, married four years, leaving a wife and child. Burial followed at 3 p.m. yesterday with family and friends mourning his loss. John Cooleman of Bias Place suffered a broken right leg while loading logs on a train.
