Gillespie and O L Hurlbutt trustees of Southern Car and Foundry sue Capt James M Elliott of Gadsden for 150000 claiming he owed Chase National Bank and never paid his share of company capital. Case filed in eastern division of the Northern District of Alabama. Hearing set for the spring term at Anniston.

Local Bell appoints J L Patterson transferred to Birmingham
J L Patterson, longtime manager of the local Southern Bell office, is transferred to Birmingham to become general inspector. Peculiar accidental shooting near Warrenton injures cattleman
A cattleman named Dollars, while buying cattle, stayed the night and in a fire side incident a pistol discharged. The ball pierced the floor, struck a sleeper, and struck Dollars in the side near the lower rib, passing through the lung and lodging under the skin on the shoulder.
