Washington Aug 29 Enlisted men of the national army National Guard and regular army will be given opportunities to qualify for commissions. An officers school will be established at each divisional training camp with French and British officers as advisers. No more line commissions will be granted to civil life entrants after the third camp series.

Red Cross sanitary unit opens in Anniston under Ledbetter
An American Red Cross sanitary unit is established in Anniston with Emmett W. Ledbetter as business manager and Dr. J. Ridlon of the U S Public Health Service as director.
