Birmingham, April 28. At 7:45 this morning the roof of the main foundry at Dim mick Pipe Works collapsed. Two men dead, James McWhorter and Dave White, eleven injured, two fatally. Damage about 10,000. An exposed trestle pulled out of plumb likely caused the disaster.
In Birmingham on April 28 a roof at the Dimmick pile plant collapsed, burying thirteen white mechanics. The dead include James McWhorter of Arab and Dave White of Birmingham. the injured are Will McWhorter, H D Brown, J T Walker, John Oliver, with injuries ranging from a crushed head to dislocations and internal injuries.
A local incident left several injured when large trusses for the final roof reception fell through timber. W. H. Allen, J. A. Beck, Geo. Siler, W. B. Wynn, D. Patillo, J. A. Ralph, and Joe Sharp sustained various injuries including dislocation, bruising, brain concussion, head injuries, broken jaw, and minor harms.
Bloodhounds are used to track the Shaw father and son escapees after Deputy Hoffman was wounded at White River junction. Dogs were on the trail last night as volunteers with arms rush to the scene. If cornered, the Shaws face likely death.
Mr Hughes was promoted to chief operator at the Western Union Telegraph office in this city succeeding Mr C F Mann who resigned. Mr J A Hickman of Butaw Alabama takes Hughes old position.

Mail will stay in the present office until 9 PM Monday after which the mail will move to the new office at Tenth and Noble. On Tuesday morning the new office opens at 7 AM with boxes assigned and keys issued for patrons. The current post office room will be vacated by midnight. The new office is modern and well appointed.
Preparations for the Pythian grand lodge gathering are advancing with decorations and a royal welcome planned. Many homes may be needed for visitors and residents with spare rooms are urged to contact the committee by noon Monday. Visitors begin arriving Monday afternoon and a barbecue at Oxford Lake is likely for Tuesday or Wednesday.
About 5 30 this morning John Thomas a colored man was badly crushed between a flat and an electric car at the Anniston Electric and Gas company barn at Sixth and Wilmer streets. He is believed injured internally with doubtful recovery. Conductor Arthur Castler assisted and narrowly escaped injury. Thomas was taken to his home for aid.
The announcement cards reveal the marriage of Ray Nathaniel Knight to Miss Eleaner Duprez Cunard Lo Cunard Knight on April 7 in New York. The bride is described as from Philadelphia's wealthy Cunard family, owner of Cunard steamships. Knight is noted as with T. B. Paine & Co. in New York and admired by Anniston friends.
Cliff DeArman died at 7 o clock this morning at his parents home on East Tenth street after a long illness of consumption. He leaves a young wife and many friends, described as a noble sincere man. The remains will be interred at DeArmanville tomorrow afternoon with funeral services at 11 visiting hours and burial about 1 o'clock.
John Tucker a farmer five miles west of Anniston meets his sister Mrs. Mary Veak of Milton Georgia for the first time in more than twenty years. Veak, visiting her son N Peak at Ninesteenth and Leighton, believed Tucker dead until today. Veak is seventy eight. Tucker is about seventy. The siblings cried and recalled memories as they spent several hours together making a joyful day.
Oxania Baptist Church announces decorations in blue red and yellow bunting for KK of P Grand Lodge. Sunday school at 9 30 a m with G G Srittien superintendent. preaching on the first and third Sundays each month. Services will be protracted Sunday April 6.

A cloud burst struck Waco Texas at noon causing torrential floods. Eight to ten people were drowned within the city. two white women a mother and daughter and a black man were among the identified dead. Rescue teams used boats in flooded streets as water rose four feet in the Provident bank basement. Names listed include Mrs Nancy Caudle Miss Clara Caudle Rosa Chapman Kamma Decker Thomas Capps Frank Walker with two unknown black men among the victims.
