Summer Club Events and Tara Hullinger Visit

June 30 Men’s League and July events listed for the summer season include a Sunday Breakfast on July 3 and a Family Covered Dish on July 4. Tara Hullinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hullinger of Salinas California, will spend the summer with grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson and uncle. Rev. Neil R Schroeder notes a pastor’s vacation visit and a Women’s Fellowship meeting on Thursday at 2:00 pm.

Congregate Meal Menus for the July Fourth Week

Due to the July 4 holiday there will be no congregate meals on that day. Meals are scheduled for Wednesday July 6 ham burger stew and sides, Thursday July 7 fried chicken and gravy, Friday July 8 pork chops or roast pork with sides. The June birthday dinner was served June 24 and art classes continue Fridays with Nancy Nielsen as instructor. Reservations to attend meals: call Mrs. Dorothy Greenlee at 762-3273.

Students honored on UNI spring Dean's List

Dean's List recipients include Susan Schellenberg of Anita and Kristi Hensley of Massena among 1,018 students named for the spring semester at the University of Northern Iowa. About 13 percent of undergraduates earned the honor by maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher in at least 12 graded hours.

Chamber Honors Wilbur Matthews at Anita picnic

The Anita Chamber of Commerce honored Wilbur Matthews at a June 21 meeting at the Redwood. Matthews, longtime civic leader, served on the Town Council and Utilities Board and contributed to local development including the electrical system and water mains. A poem by Les Eddy closed the tribute.

Rites Held for Harry Osen at Anita Evergreen Cemetery

Graveside memorial rites were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. for Harry Osen aged 70, a former Anitan, who died Saturday in Anaheim California. Rev. Joseph Henry officiated.

Rev. Neil Schroeder of Anita Congregational UCC and Federated UCC at Exira marked twenty five years in the ministry with an open house reception on Sunday June 26. Darren Littleton Joins Iowa YCC Camp at Boone

Darren Littleton son of Mr and Mrs Duane Littleton of Anita has been chosen for one of Iowa two residential Youth Conservation Corps Camps in Boone. He is among 24 high school enrollees from 900 applicants for seven weeks of conservation oriented work at sites including Ledges Pine Creek and Brushy Creek State Parks under the direction of the State Office for Planning and Programming.

New Babies Born to Rex Karas and Wipperman Families

Mr and Mrs Stephen Wipperman Raleigh North Carolina have a son born on Tuesday weighing 8 pounds with Matthew Paul as the name. Mrs Walderman Kohlmeier St Louis maternal grandmother. Wipperman is Kristen Kohlmeier formerly. Her late father Walderman Kohlmeier was pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church years ago. Mr Wipperman serves his Vicarage in Raleigh Car.

Injured Dressler Discharged After Fall Breaks

Monte Dressler, son of Mr and Mrs Gary Dressler, has been discharged from Cass County Memorial Hospital after a fall caused three broken vertebrae. He will wear a brace for three months and is recovering at home. News copy must reach the Tribune office by Saturday noon for the next issue.
