A Red Cross fund drive reports Cass county quota. A roof collapse and a milk truck crash caused damage and surprise.
The Town Council met in regular session in Anita Iowa with Mayor Raper and members Gill Johnson Larsen Miller present. Minutes and treasurer reports approved and bills paid including gas, labor, salaries, utilities, printing, and insurance with adjournment after no further business.
Cass County Iowa board meets with all members present and approves May 1 and May 8 minutes. The board names G H Allen and Loyal G Possehl to count cash at the county treasurer on May 31. A resolution orders a depart notice against John Hansen and related Hansens to prevent county settlement.
Cass County board actions include notices for Laura Sommers and Coral Bauer to depart, to bar settlement, and to sign notices for sheriff service. Also approved cigarette license for Iowa Sports Service, accepted resignations in Sheriff’s Office, and authorized road petition, lumber purchases, and bond examinations. Meeting adjourned to June 1950.
