Anita Iowa Council Accepts Bid For Street Improvements
The Anita Town Council met September 10 1928 at the town hall with Mayor Campbell and councilors Burke Campbell Holton Shaffer and Lewis. Only Cook and Stucker of Ottawa Kansas filed a bid for grading curbing and paving Fourth and Cherry Streets which was accepted as the lowest legal bid. The mayor and town clerk were authorized to enter into a contract but it becomes binding only after council approval. All other bids were rejected and certified checks returned. The clerk was also instructed to notify parties about outside toilets. Anita Post American Legion held a meeting Friday night.
