Auto Accident Near Anita Damages Family En Route to Omaha
A car carrying A. J. Carter his wife three daughters and a niece from Des Moines to Omaha left the Federal Highway No 2 near the Frank Crawford farm east of Evergreen Cemetery. One young girl sustained a severe head wound but the others escaped with only minor bruises. Mrs Carter driving attempted to pass a loaded truck on a slick muddy curve and the vehicle skidded to the edge of a high grade overturning. A wrecker and medical help were summoned and the injured were taken to Dr C V Beaver before the family rode the evening train to Omaha. The event was not fatal and the Carters regarded it as fortunate.

4-H Convention Welcomes Cass County Delegation
Ninteen girls and leaders returned from the 4-H convention in Ames with a large Cass county group. They stayed at Mrs. Anderson’s boarding house on Stanton Avenue and participated in orchestra, chorus, and home furnishing sessions. The Tuesday assembly reported 2,500 attendees, the largest 4-H gathering in the nation.

Former Anita Girl Stricken By Appendicitis Complications
Relatives and friends in Anita and nearby areas learn of MB Elva White’s serious illness following an appendicitis operation. The fourteen year old daughter of Wayne and, now near Casey, is in critical condition. She receives expert medical care from nurse Susie Hill of Stuart and is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Johnson a School of Mines graduate and former Chilecito manager is now mining consultant in Kellogg. After a brief trip through Coeur D Alene and Bitter Root valley the couple reside in Kellogg after July 1.

The Greater Atlantic Club sponsors a fat barrow show at the Cass County Fair this fall. A total of 100 dollars in cash prizes will be awarded with 57 for best pen of three and 43 for best single entry. Barrows must weigh between 175 and 275 pounds and judging is based on type quality and finish. All breeds eligible, purebred or grade. Barrows entered in the single entry class may also compete in the pen of three division.
