The Cass County Fair will host qualified dirt track racing on Wednesday September 7 under the International Motor Contest Association sanction. Blinded by lights car goes into ditch near Anita
Returning from Omaha, Fred Knowlton, his wife and daughter Evona, plus Mrs. Grace Wilson Grotenfendt and A. F. Higgens, escaped serious injury when their auto veered off the road east of the Voorhees Estate two miles west of Anita. Blinded by approaching headlights, the car tipped onto its top after tumbling twice. Mrs. Knowlton suffered cuts and bruises from broken glass.

Obituary: Angus C Gochanour 1850 1927 Longtime Anita Resident
Angus C. Gochanour died at his daughter Eva Hayter's home near Anita Iowa July 17 1927 at age 77 after a long illness from a fractured hip. He married Eva Parker in 1878 in LaSalle IL and had nine children. Funeral held at Anita M E church with Rev E O Douglass officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
