Mr and Mrs H B Muntendam die in Elliott Town from Spanish influenza. They fell ill at home, Bennie died Monday, the wife died Tuesday, after efforts to save them. Their mother Ida Muntendam of this city receives community sympathy.
Henry Benjamin Muntendam known as Bennie was born in Anita Iowa July 25 1887 and died in Elliott Iowa December 9 1918 at age 31 years 4 months 14 days after a week long illness from Spanish influenza. He was the son of W G K and Ida Sister Muntendam.
Bennie Muntendam, editor and publisher who owned the Elliott Graphic, dies at 30 from Spanish influenza in Elliott Iowa after a career across Creston Woodbine Oakland Griswold Cumberland and Anita. He married Rose Rudig in 1912. Knights of Pythias Modern Woodmen member. services held in Elliott and Anita with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Frank Nordman died December 16 at his daughter’s home in Wiota at 91. Survived by son C. G. Nordman and daughters Mrs. F. D. Bradley and Mrs. C W. McDermott. Funeral at Wiota M E Church. Lodge involved. Also items on servicemen Russell Robison, Roscoe Wagner, Carl Beebe, Floyd Dement. Earl Smith commissioned Captain. Rev. E. G. Osen dead in France. Margaret Becker dies in Carroll.
